Life as a Solopreneur

Owning your own business is a dream for many, including myself. When I first opened Egan Law Center after leaving a corporate job, I thought finding that ideal work-life balance would be so much easier. Boy was I wrong! When you work for a big corporation, especially practicing an area of law such as contracts, it’s easy to take time off without feeling guilty. Your work hours are clearly defined and the weekends are entirely yours. The trade-off? Little flexibility, work schedules that don’t take childcare and school schedules into consideration, and a job I felt unfulfilled in.

However, I’ve found myself working more now than ever before. Who knew that the most demanding boss I had would be myself?
