Valentine’s Day Blues

Valentine’s Day is one of the most romantic days of the year. Couples exchange chocolates, flowers, and teddy bears. They splurge on romantic getaways, fine dining, and proposals.

In the past few years, single women have reclaimed Valentine’s Day with ‘Galentine’s Day’, as a way to celebrate platonic friendship love. These women get to celebrate being single and free with wine and laughs with their girl friends.

For that reason, it’s not always the single men and women who end up feeling the most down each February 14th.

Instead, it can be the men and women in relationships who are receiving less than they deserve, feel trapped in their relationship, or are too scared to walk away after years of dating.

Although these people may go through the motions of a cute romantic day, they may actually be the ones struggling the most as they feel the acute disparity between the feelings they hold for their partner and what they think they should be feeling instead.

However, these feelings don’t always mean that your relationship is doomed. Couples therapy can completely overhaul your relationship for the better and can help address your feelings of uncertainty. Communication with your partner is also vital to fostering a healthy relationship.

If you have come to the decision that it is time to end your marriage, here at the Egan Law Center we strive to make that process as pain-free and amicable as we can. Divorces do not have to be messy, time-consuming, and expensive. As long as the two remember the mutual respect they have for each other, most divorces can actually be the best outcome for the couple and help them create the life they’ve always wanted.
