5 Reasons Why We Love Family Law
Achieving justice for our very deserving clients.
There’s no better feeling than a major court victory for a very deserving client. Many of our clients come to us after being pro se and bullied by either opposing counsel or were not able to articulate their argument to the judge. The feeling of righting the wrongs that have been done for our clients makes all of the hard work worth it!
2. Fostering valuable skills for families.
Family law matters do not follow the typical court process you see on TV or in the movies. There’s a saying in family law: “If you’re not settling, you’re not doing it right.” Settling cases is often the best outcome for our clients, and it helps foster important skills between families, such as communication and compromise.
3. Witnessing tears of joy in the courtroom.
Family law cases can be emotionally damaging and traumatizing experiences, even when the end result is a favorable outcome for a client. This is not the case for adoption cases and name change matters. A loving parent adopting a child, or a child changing their last name to honor their parent often results in happy tears at the courthouse and heartwarming stories. These are some of my favorite cases to do!
4. Reuniting families.
The goal of family law is always reunification. Of course, sometimes this is not in the best interest of the child. However, when it is, rebuilding and fostering close relationships between estranged family members is a very special process that I feel honored to be privy to.
5. Developing close relationships with clients.
Unlike other fields in law, family law necessitates frequent communication and meetings between the attorney and the client. We are there for our clients during some of the most vulnerable and emotional times of their lives. I cherish the professional relationships I build with my clients and am happy to help make this process as easy and stress-free as possible.
